April - World Amateur Radio Day
Exercise: To celebrate amateur radio by making contacts with RAC stations*, and other stations on active bands.
*RAC stations: VE1RAC, VA2RAC, VA3RAC, VE4RAC, VE5RAC, VE6RAC, VE7RAC, VE8RAC, VE9RAC, VO1RAC, VO2RAC, VY0RAC, VY1RAC and VY2RAC. [need to verify all of these call signs for 2021].
Which activity would you prefer? Let’s choose what we do.
VECTOR doesn’t plan to activate an RAC station. We encourage members to participate on all bands and all modes available to each.
Gather on air to:
- use on-air skills you may use only rarely otherwise
- get to know other operators
- get to know your gear
How it works - come up with a fun activity
Radio Amateurs Canada is repeating its successful WARD activity day.
RAC members will activate VxXRAC stations from across Canada. (VE7RAC, VE6RAC, and more). Anyone who makes a contact with any RAC station will be able to download a beautiful PDF certificate.
To run a VE7RAC station, volunteers could apply for the call sign. Using it involves a few simple responsibilities.
Note: This is an activity contest (QSO party was most common in 2020). We could do any form of activity that makes contacts. We would also need to remember that some frequencies are inappropriate for contesting.
RAC hopes to expand the scope of activities this year with this longer notice.
All radio amateurs are welcome to participate in any of our nets.
