VECTOR Partners for Celebration Of Light and Pride

For 18 years VECTOR provided communications services for Celebration of Light (COL), Western Canada’s largest single public event. Thanks to input from our membership we’ve expanded our event coverage this year to include Canada Day Fireworks, Canada 150 Parade, Pride Parade and the Santa Claus Parade.

This year our communicators will partner up with their colleagues from the broader Vancouver Volunteer Corps (VVC) membership for both Celebration of Light (Saturday July 29, Wednesday August 2, Saturday August 5) and the Vancouver Pride Parade (Sunday August 6).

We are proud to recognize members from North Shore Emergency Management’s Emergency Communications Team (NSEM ECT) and Richmond Emergency Program Amateur Radio Society (REPARS) will join our team for both COL and Pride.

Working together makes us all stronger. Over the past year planners from all three organizations have been meeting to share ideas and best practices with a goal to improving interoperability and readiness so that we may all be better prepared to render assistance in the event of a mutual aid request.
