Community Centre Radio Exercise
On Saturday October 19th, starting at 13:00 we’ll be running an exercise at several city sites. This is an opportunity to get on-air practice with voice and data protocols, while testing the radio kits at a handful of community centres. Think of it like a mini-VANSLAM! Sign up in BetterImpact.
Maintenance, Repair, and Operations Jobs Session
There is always work to be done to keep our equipment ready for an activation. If you want to get hands-on with radios, antennas, software, and other tasks, check out the our “jobs board” in OpenProject.
Lower Mainland 2m QSO Party
All the fun of Field Day contesting, but with your handheld! On November 16th, look to make and log as many contacts as possible using 2m VHF simplex. More details to come at the November Members’ Meeting.
The weekly net takes place at 20:00 every Wednesday on the VE7TEL repeater (VECTOR channel 2, 145.170 MHz, -0.6 MHz offset). Each week, a secondary net follows on a different frequency, providing an opportunity for amateur radio operators to test their radio with other bands and modes of operation.
