Hard to believe that it’s June and Field Day is almost upon us, followed by a host of summer civic events! We hope you’ll be able to join us at Field Day for our summer social, and help support some of our local events in July.

We’re very excited to have Dave VE7BBV from the Burnaby Amateur Radio Club coming in to give a guest presentation at our member meeting about his approach to radio contesting on HF. Hopefully we can take his tips and apply them on Field Day to make some contacts!

Field Day - June 28th & 29th
VECTOR is running our traditional three-day Field Day operation in Queen Elizabeth Park this year, with setup on Friday, June 27th. We aim to operate on-air from 11:00 Saturday until Sunday at 9:00, with a Saturday barbecue lunch and social. We’ll have a Get-On-The-Air station running to introduce non-amateurs to the world of radio, along with dedicated contesting stations on various bands. Bring your friends and family and show them what amateur radio is all about!
More details about Field Day will be sent out in the coming weeks, and it will be the main topic of discussion at our June 4th member meeting.
