RARC seeks help for Salmon Festival Canada Day Parade, Steveston

Mini-COL exercise - July 8

• Run through our COL deployment and check equipment
• Rendezvous at Aquatic Centre or Space Centre based on your assignment
• Sign up for 17:00 to 20:00, help make sure gear’s ready

RARC Swap Meet and Emergency Communications Display - July 15

• Pick up new-to-you gear at the swap
• See equipment and vehicles from local radio clubs and related organizations
• At South Arm United Church (southwest corner of Steveston Hwy. and No. 3 Rd.)
• Swap Meet and exhibits in the Gym Hall and emergency communication vehicles in the parking lot.
• Sign up to help showcase our deployable kits

EMBC now EMCR and Your Renewal Comes Up!

• EMBC changed to Emergency Management and Climate Resilience
• Your card shows when your registration needs renewal
• Renewals need new versions of the registration form
• Upload new photo and scanned copy of the form to your Better Impact profile

ICS Quiz promptly updates your ICS100 Status

• Many members have old ICS100 qualifications expiring
• You can refresh your status with our quiz

Your response matters for Civic Event Planning

To effectively mobilize for public events, we must know how many operators can serve.

• COL - Celebration of Light (July 22, July 26, July 29) - One or more nights?
• Frontrunners Pride Run-Walk (July 23) - Join the crew for the morning?
• Pride Parade (August 6) - Join the crew for the morning?

Get to know other members on air - Friday Nights at 20:00 on VE7RVF

Time Estimate: 30 minutes

• Please take your shot leading as net controller for one night
• Connect to around 15 fellow operators (from 8 to 35 people any day)

• Table at RARC Swap Meet and Emergency Communications Display? In South Richmond_on Saturday, July 15, from 09:30 to 12:30. Tables are $25 each (includes two admissions) and general admission is $7 per person. More info on table purchase.

6. Weekly Net

Catch the weekly net at 20:00 every Wednesday on the VE7TEL repeater: VECTOR channel 2, 145.170 MHz -600 kHz.

Each week, a secondary net follows on a different frequency, providing opportunities for amateur radio operators to test radios using other bands and modes of operation.

7. Monthly Members' Meetings

VECTOR gathers on the first Wednesday of each month to keep its operations flowing. Connect in our Zoom virtual space unless otherwise noted.
