Retiring Saber radios
Just before the pandemic started, VECTOR decided to de-acquire all our Motorola Saber radios. We shifted to using Baofeng radios as loaners during our practice courses.
VE7RVF upgraded to heavy-duty gear
On 2022-03-26, a surprising change interrupted the VECTOR check-in-and-chat net. Technical volunteers switched over from the previous Motorola XPR 8400 unit to a Motorola Quantar.
February Basic Completed, Anyone Up for Advanced?
February Basic course had great turnout with several students from the BC Interior and other provinces. Volunteers are planning to start the next course on September 10, in person if possible.
Ham Radio Crash Course
Hams are sharing knowledge using online platforms. Josh Nass KI6NAZ started a YouTube Channel to share detailed ham knowledge. Over the years it became a rapidly growing community of radio enthusiasts interested in learning.
